To Post-Operative Patients:
These are some brief instructions
that should answer most of your questions during your post-operative

Dr. Payton and/or Dr. Murry or Dr. Roediger after hours regarding
questions, concerns or emergencies. The office number is 797-5753.

At the time of discharge,
go home and rest. You may return to school/work and normal activity
the next day |
When bathing, place
a small piece of cotton moistened with Vaseline in the outer
ear canal. |
Ear molds are available
through our office at an additional cost if you or your child
is an avid swimmer. |
The tubes will fall
out by themselves in approximately eight months. |
A small amount of
draining from the ears for a few days is normal. Any excessive
drainage should be reported to our office. |
You will be given
eye drops by the nurse, prior to discharge. Place three drops
in each ear, three times a day for the first two days. |
Please call our
office on the next working day for a follow-up appointment. |
