To Post-Operative Patients:

These are some brief instructions that should answer most of your questions during your post-operative period. We have a 24-hour answering service that will notify Dr. Payton and/or Dr. Murry or Dr. Roediger after hours regarding questions, concerns or emergencies. The office number is 797-5753.

4 teaspoons natural salt (Kosher or sea)
1 teaspoon Arm & Hammer Baking Soda
1 quart water
1 Baby Bulb

½ cup should be irrigated on each side. Patient should lean over sink and fill baby bulb syringe or sniff out of palm of hand and irrigate the nose completely. If the patient is using a nasal steroid, it is to be used after cleansing the nose.

The bulb syringe should be rinsed with 1:10 bleach-water solution weekly.
