S-LIFT
Overall facelift provides lift
to the neck and lower one third of the face. Complications are
minimized and recovery times are quicker than a standard facelift.
The traditional S-lift is preformed
using tumescent local anesthetic and may be combine with submental
and neck liposuction procedures. S-lift results can be further
enhanced with subsequent resurfacing and/or chemical peels at
the time of the procedure.
Best Candidates for S-Lift:
- Good overall health
- Age 46 years
- Realistic expectations
- Mild to Moderate lower facial
and neck laxity
Procedure:
The procedure is preformed within
the office setting. A preoperative oral sedative medication is
given to relax the patient. Anesthesia is in the form of tumescent
solution. This fluid lifts the skin away from the underlying
tissue and provides bloodless surgery.
An incision is made in the hair
cuff in an S-shaped fashion. The skin incision is carried down
along the ear and then behind the ear. Dissolvable sutures are
used to tighten the underlying tissue, which then allow excess
overlying skin. The skin is trimmed and the wound is closed.
The procedure usually takes two hours.
Following the procedure, rest
at home while wearing a compression bandage is required. There
may be some minor bruising or swelling for one to two days. The
compression dressing will be worn for seventy-two hours. Mild
(over the counter) pain relievers may be needed. Follow up will
occur in the office the following morning with cleansing of incision
and removal of dressing and then hair washing. The sutures are
dissolvable. Direct sun should be avoided for several weeks.
Most patients resume normal activity four to five days after
procedure.
The S-Lift provides the patient
with a quicker recovery time with minimal complications and scarring
while providing a natural look.
