What is an Otolaryngologist?

An otolaryngologist is a doctor who specializes in the care of the ear, nose, throat and related areas. They preform a great variety of surgical procedures in the daily treatment of ear, nose, throat, sinuses, larynx, pharynx, neck, oral cavity, thyroid, salivary gland, and esophagus. An otolaryngologist, also know as an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) doctor, routinely handles cases such as adenoidectomies, tonsillectomies, nose bleeds, ear tubes, infected mastoids, airway problems and sinus disease. They specialize in tumors and cancer surgery of the head and neck.
