Post-Operative Wound Instructions

To Post-Operative Patients:

These are some brief instructions that should answer most of your questions during your post-operative period. We have a 24-hour answering service that will notify Dr. Payton and/or Dr. Murry or Dr. Roediger after hours regarding questions, concerns or emergencies. The office number is 797-5753.

 

 

 

 

Steri-strips have been placed. While the steri-strips are in place, you may apply vasotracin or Neosporin to the steri-strips twice a day. When the steri-strips begin to curl on the edges, you may remove them and clean the wound with hydrogen peroxide and then apply vasotracin or Neosporin twice a day.

 .

The wound should remain dry for 48 hours.

If you demonstrate any increase in redness, swelling, pain or temperature, (signs of infections), than you should contact the office immediately.
